Meet Dr. George Schreppler

Shifting from Law to Chiropractic

Dover Chiropractor Dr. George Schreppler

Dr. George Schreppler

When Dr. George was younger, he had an injury to his lower spine. It was something that medicine felt was better off operated on. While the surgeon was on vacation, he went to a chiropractor. In several weeks, Dr. George was much better and so he continued with that care. “At that point I was destined to be an attorney but I switched from the idea of being an attorney to being a chiropractor based on my personal convictions.”

Dr. George did most of his undergraduate studies at the University of Delaware and then finished his undergrad at Palmer College in Davenport, Iowa. He earned both a Bachelor of Science and a Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Palmer.

The Appeal of Chiropractic

What appeals to Dr. George most about chiropractic is resolving health complaints in a conservative fashion without drugs or surgery. Dr. George finds it most gratifying to find an answer for those patients who believe there’s no solution for what’s wrong with them. “A lot of times it’s because they were improperly diagnosed to start out with. On top of that, they did not try a correct approach to their problem.” Dr. George has had thousands of such patients.

Meeting Chiropractic’s Legends

Some of Dr. George’s most memorable chiropractic experiences include meeting the founders of different techniques such as Gonstead and Thompson. Dr. George even gave adjustments to Daniel, the youngest Palmer. Dr. George primarily uses Diversified, Gonstead and Activator Methods®. He attends at least 10 seminars a year to keep current. Recently he did an update on an extremity adjusting course that discussed new ways of treating Carpal Tunnel Syndrome and plantar fasciitis.

I’ve seen thousands of patients who believe there’s no solution for what’s wrong with them. Through chiropractic, a solution occurs.

Music to Model Ts

When he’s not in the office, Dr. George enjoys spending time with his four young grandchildren. He also likes to restore predominantly Model T Ford cars to their original state or show condition. His other hobbies include hunting migratory birds and fishing. Passionate about music, Dr. George has always been deeply committed to collecting a music library. He has thousands of reels of tape, and thousands of CDs.

A Community-minded Chiropractor

Dr. George served as one of the chiropractic medical directors of Coventry Health Care for 20 years. He also served as a board member of the Delaware Board of Chiropractic Examiners and was president as well. Dr. George was a founding member of Delaware Chiropractic Society and held every officer’s position for over 20 years. He remains the head of the society’s political action committee.

Dr. George also served as a past member of the Delaware School Health Advisory Committee and was named Chiropractor of the Year in Delaware on two different occasions. He is also a member of the American Chiropractic Association and has served in many local organizations at different times in his career.
