Your First Visit

Here’s what to expect at your first visit:

Dover Chiropractor What To Expect

We look forward to welcoming you to our friendly practice

  • You will complete paperwork that includes a brief background of your medical history. We’re interested in knowing if you’ve had surgeries or fractures or if some medical condition exists that might create a weakened structure.
  • We will give you a pain questionnaire of your area of complaint.
  • We will test the range of motion of the spine or joint in the area of complaint.
  • Dr. George will perform appropriate orthopedic or physiological checks of the affected area or in the muscles or connective tissue if you have a complaint in those areas.
  • He will then palpate and either adjust your spine, extremity or whatever your area of complaint is.

Your Second Visit

At your second visit, we will determine how much relief you’ve had or whether a change in the symptom pattern occurred after the first treatment. Based on that, Dr. George will decide what you need in terms of any future care. “I never project more than 2-4 weeks. There’s no scientific evidence that backs going beyond 30 days of treatment,” says. Dr. George.

Regular Visits

At a regular visit, we will use a G5 vibration unit to help you relax. “I think that relaxation prior to an adjustment yields a better adjustment,” says Dr. George.

In some cases, you may be put on an intersegmental traction table if appropriate. Dr. George will motion palpate your spine. He also will do some myofascial release work with muscles and connective tissue. Dr. George will then adjust your spine or extremities — whatever is appropriate for your original complaint.
